Peace through Religion

A lot of individuals are deeply religious. They go to the place of worship regularly, perform fasts and rituals with great sincerity and are very particular about following certain principles related to their religion. Some people however do these things with a motive. It is either fear of divine retribution if these rituals are not performed. Or it is the lure of material benefits that accrue by performing these rituals. For example, if I do not do this ritual, I will be punished. Or if I do this ritual I will be rewarded by 'God' with this. Well, to each his own. But I do not subscribe to these lines of thinking. The 'divine element', whatever form it takes cannot have passions that mortals have. This 'force' cannot be pleased or angered by us doing or not doing certain things. These are misconceptions that have been foisted on the laity of different religions by the powers-that-be. For me, religion is intensely personal. Rituals are a means to be at peace with myself. Because I feel 'pure' before, during and after them. For me rituals are not a way of pleasing any 'God' or getting material benefits. They are not even a means to cure me of my health problems. The entire experience of religious rituals is a cleansing of my mind. To be at peace with myself. taken from: http://stanford.wellsphere.com/kidney-failure-article/peace-through-religion/256410

Can We Bring PEACE through Dialogue?

Is it possible to bring peace through dialogue?
This is the question which is worth answering, especially in the current global scenario. Terrorism has emerged as an unsolvable phenomenon, costing heavy budgets to fight against.
Actually there are many mistakes and many mishandlings in the struggle to over come on this phenomenon, which results in rapid increase in such activities.
The basic problem of this mistake is that there is no consensus definition of “terrorism”.
And it seems that it has been left opened to gain some hidden agenda, which has also created doubts about the intentions of fighters against terrorism.
The goal behind this all struggle is to baring peace in world.
What is the statuesque of this struggle? Is it successful to some level? Are the sufferings satisfied from this war on terror?
The answer is absolutely, NO.
Now the question is “CAN WE BRING PEACE THROUGH DIALOGUE?”
I think that, Yes, we can bring peace through dialogue. But the basic condition for this to consider all the parties, included in dialogue, equal.
One might say that how can we consider accused person as equal, but with out that dialogue process will bear no fruits.
Here I m putting some questions if we can answer them it will help improve pace to some level.
  • What should be the process for dialogue?
  • Who should conduct?
  • Who should be the judge?
  • What are the basic criteria or definition of peace one should agree on?
Let us answer these questions and play our role to promote peace.

Tense Situation of the world and way out

The sense of insecurity is spreading very rapidly in the world, especially when science has developed to the extant that one can destroy the world as whole or most part of it with in a few minutes by just pressing a button of his computer. This fear is not limited to one or other country, but it is becoming a general phenomenon. Every developing country or poor country is under pressure to obey the orders of developed ones. Because if it denies or delays the consequences might become dangerous or terrible, or even worse. In the result of this fear some powerful states attacks on others for several open and hidden agendas. And the reason or rational for this attacks is “pre-emptive strikes” and war against terrorism. Is it legitimate or not? It is another issue When on attacks on a state of country, naturally it faces music from the other said as well. Same happened here, the attacked once were week to compete the weapons of mass destruction so they started attacking the attacking army and their posts, which is called now Terrorism. Is this terrorism or self defense? It is to be discussed yet. Now world is facing tow kinds of FEAR
  1. aggression
  2. terrorism
The question is that “what is way out”?? I think three major fields are necessary to be concentrate on to minimize this tension and fear;
  • Ø Education
  • Ø Human Rights
  • Ø Religious Harmony

Inter-religious dialogue and Peace Promotion

At the dawn of the 21st century, religion plays a central role in public life, and has become a significant identity marker. In our increasingly pluralistic societies, more inter-religious dialogue and cooperation are needed if conflict fueled by religion is to be constructively addressed. Spiritual and religious traditions are a source of values that can defend dignified life for all; these traditions need to be explored. We need new ways to understand both particularity, universality and plurality; we must learn to live our faith with integrity while respecting and accepting each other. It is also necessary for the peace of world to have dialogue between different religions to find out commonalities to promote the culture of tolerance and brotherhood. This heave responsibility lies on the shoulders of youngsters to promote such a culture so that we can live in peace, harmony and prosper society. What do you think we (youngsters) can do in this regard?

HOW TO PROMOTE PEACE

Peace is the most valuable thing in the life of every living creature, it is the basic duty of state to ensure peace and harmony among various societies and religious communities. Now a days we find no such effort in any country, and all big players are try to fight against Terrorism with out any defined goal. It is our duty to join hands and discuss how to make our world peaceful. any body loves peace should visit and tell us,
  • Is peace more expensieve than war.????????
  • If yes Why???
  • and if No why??
